The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) released its Small Business Optimism Index today. According to the report, small business optimism is up, but only slightly--less than a point (0.9). Sluggish job growth is probably the good news of the report; it's better than it was at the end of last year but not enough to restore hiring to 2007 levels.
